☕Warmed, Spiced, Banana & Walnut Oatmeal ☕

                ☕ Breakfast Special! ☕                                                        

Gluten/Dairy –free☕




Ingredients 

      
·       1 Tablespoon Earth Balance Butter Spread
·       1 Banana
·       1 Teaspoon cinnamon
·       1 Cup of whole walnuts (Roasted)
·       1 Cinnamon stick
·       1 Tablespoon honey
·       1 Tablespoon dark brown sugar
·      1 Cup Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free Old Fashion Rolled Oats
     2 Cups of water 
   A pinch of salt





Directions
         Add 1 cinnamon stick to 2 cups of water
a pinch of salt
 and bring to a boil.

                                         Add 1 cup of
                    Gluten-Free Old Fashion Rolled Oats.

                                  Reduce heat and simmer,
                                            Uncovered,
                                  Cook for 3-4 minutes.



                         Then remove pot from the heat,
                 cover and let stand for 3-4 minutes to let
                            the oats  absorb all the water.



·       While the Oatmeal sets up ....
In a saute pan  ...
Roast the walnuts.
Heat the walnuts 1-2 minutes or until 
they smell toasted.
Then remove the walnuts, 
place them in a small bowl and set aside.
 


Back to the saute pan...

add Earth Balance butter spread.
                     Once the butter spread has melted ...
                                 Add the brown sugar,

                                     vanilla,


                                               &
                                      the honey.


Stir all ingredients together ...
until it forms a syrup consistency.
The syrup is done when you take a spoon or spatula 
and scrape the pan ...  it is thick  & the syrup doesn't run.

                                    Chop the banana.


Add the banana to the syrup...

                       Place the bananas face down ...
                                add the cinnamon...


      a couple sprinkles should do....
                          stir the bananas so they are
                         evenly coated with the syrup..


   Add the walnuts & stir until all is combined.
  The walnuts will soak up the syrup ...



The warmed, spiced
 banana & walnut topping is done...



remove cinnamon stick 
from of the oatmeal...

Place the warmed, spiced
 banana & walnut topping 
on the oatmeal
