The Grandma Russo New Year Eve Stew Tradition
Every New Year Eve remembering as far back as a child my Grandma Russo would make this stew of Pork & Sauerkraut that we would eat the strike of midnight to welcome the New Year with this ritual to attract good fortune as we watched and Listen to Guy Lombardo – Auld Lang & made noise with banging her Pots & pans with wooden spoons at the strike of Midnight .
I'm so grateful my husband, Rick watched her make this because I never took the time to jot down the Recipe from my grandmother so he continues the Russo tradition for me by making my grandma's recipe every New Years Eve.
It is a required taste but we LOVE it!
